Planned Giving: If you would like to leave a lasting gift to LELDF and connect your legacy to protecting and defending our law enforcement officers, we encourage you to leave a planned gift or bequest to LELDF. If you would like to make such a gift to the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund through your will, your attorney may wish to include language similar to the following: "I give, devise, and bequeath to the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund, now or formerly in the City of Alexandria, (dollar amount, percentage, or ____ percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate), to be used for its general purposes."
The Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) is a 501©3 non-profit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law, and are made with the understanding that LELDF has complete discretion and control over the use of all donated funds. If we receive more than we need for any one law enforcement officer’s case, the remaining funds will be used to assist other officers and/or to help further other programs. Upon your written request to our national office, we will be pleased to send you a copy of our most recent audited financial statement.
